Item Fusion User Guide

Item Fusion

▶ What is Item Fusion?

Item Fusion is a mechanism designed to facilitate the exchange of MapleStory NFTs for NXPC. Participants collaborate to complete a 'basket', a predefined collection of items, and receive NXPC rewards for their contribution. This mechanism serves a vital role in the ecosystem, functioning as an automated stabilizer that regulates item circulation based on ecosystem demand.

▶ How Does a Fusion Round Work?

  • Submission: Once a round opens, you can submit items to help fill the basket. Be sure to check the ‘Est. Rewards Per Item’ beforehand to identify which items offer the best reward.
  • Withdrawal Rules: You can withdraw items 5 minutes after submission, provided the basket is not yet full. Once the basket is 100% full, withdrawals are PERMANENTLY DISABLED for settlement.
  • Settlement: Once the basket reaches 100%, settlement begins. Your submitted items are EXCHANGED for NXPC. This process takes time to finalize, and you will be notified upon completion. Please be aware that this action is irreversible, and you lose ownership of your submitted items.
  • Claim Rewards: After settlement is complete, your rewards become available on ‘My Page’. Rewards do not expire, so you can claim them at your convenience.
  • Note: Final rewards may vary slightly from estimates due to decimal truncation.
  • Next Round: A new round will begin following a short cooldown period. You can join the next round once it opens.

⚠️ IMPORTANT: Enhancement Are Not Counted

Item enhancements do not affect your reward. Attributes such as Bonus Stats, Star Force, Potential, and Bonus Potential are ignored. Every NFT of the same base type receives the exact same reward.

  • Example: Whether you submit a "Neophyte Ring" with Legendary Potential, or a clean, basic version, the reward amount will be identical.

▶ FAQ

Q. Where do submitted items go after settlement?

A. You lose ownership of your submitted items after settlement. They are returned to the Item Pool, a repository where limited MapleStory Universe items are stored, effectively removing them from circulation.

Q. Can these items ever come back to circulation?

A. Yes. Items in the Item Pool may eventually re-enter circulation through Fission (redeeming NXPC for items). However, specific items cannot be targeted for retrieval, as the lineup of available items is determined by the protocol.

Q. How is ‘Est. Rewards Per Item’ calculated?

A. The ‘Est. Rewards Per Item’ indicates the projected NXPC allocation for a single unit. This figure is calculated based on the item’s relative market value within the completed basket. Put simply, the higher an item’s market value compared to the total basket, the larger its share of the total rewards.

  • Item Reference Price: The estimated market value of a specific item type, systematically derived from marketplace data. It employs a proprietary valuation model designed to reflect prevailing market conditions while filtering out statistical anomalies and mitigating short-term volatility.
  • Total Basket Value: The sum of the reference prices for all items required to fill the basket.

Q. How is the Total Rewards pool calculated?

A. The Total Rewards pool is determined by the NFT/NXPC Exchange Rate. This rate is not arbitrarily set but is dynamically derived from the ecosystem’s supply ratio.

  • Example
    • If there are 1,000,000 items in the pool and the Total NXPC supply is 100,000, the Exchange Rate is 10 (meaning 10 items are required for 1 NXPC).
    • In this scenario, if a Fusion basket contains 100 NFTs, the Total Rewards generated for that basket would be 10 NXPC (100 / 10).

Q. What is the source of Total Rewards? Is it newly minted?

ANo. Rewards are not newly minted. They are sourced from the reserve of NXPC accumulated via Fission (Redeeming NXPC for NFTs).

When users spend NXPC to acquire items through Fission, that NXPC is temporarily locked. Fusion releases this locked NXPC back into circulation as users return items to the Item Pool. This cycle allows Fission and Fusion to work together, maintaining a balanced item supply based on demand.

Q. How is the Basket composition determined?

A basket is a predefined collection of specific NFTs filled collaboratively by participants. The composition is determined by the following three criteria.

  1. Item Pool Inclusion (Fundamental Rule): Only items registered in the Item Pool are eligible candidates. Items that are not governed by the Fission and Fusion mechanisms cannot be included in a basket.
  2. Quantity Requirement (Based on Max Supply): The number of items required for each type is calculated as a fixed percentage of its maximum supply.
    • Example: If the requirement is 1% of Max Supply:
      • Item A (Max Supply 1,000): Requires 10 unit.
      • Item B (Max Supply 2,000): Requires 20 units.
  3. Circulation Threshold (Minimum Liquidity): An item type is eligible only if its current circulating supply is sufficient. Specifically, the circulating supply must be at least 50 times the quantity required by the basket.
    • Example: If a basket requires 10 units of Item A, there must be at least 500 units of Item A circulating in the market for it to be eligible.

The basket composition is finalized at the start of the round and remains fixed throughout the active phase. Any updates to eligibility or quantity requirements are calculated during the cooldown period and applied to the subsequent round.
